Role

We are hiring a Quality Lead to build and own the quality system for Allied as we move from prototypes to repeatable production. You will work across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and operations to make sure our products are designed, built, tested, and delivered with the reliability demanded by defence technology.

You will define how quality works at Allied from first principles: inspection plans, non-conformance processes, supplier quality, incoming and outgoing checks, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and the documentation needed to support traceability and configuration control.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable building systems while staying close to the product. You will help set the bar for quality across the company, embedding practical processes that increase speed, reliability, and accountability as we scale.

About Allied

We’re a defence technology company reimagining how capability gets developed, built, and deployed. Our team comes from military service, government, and engineering - united not by background but by purpose. We work as a circle of peers, not a hierarchy. We prove what works in weeks, not years.

We’re backed by leading investors and working with best-in-class partners to strengthen western democracies. We don’t say that lightly.

About You

  • Experience leading quality in aerospace, defence, automotive, robotics, advanced manufacturing, or another complex hardware environment
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, inspection planning, non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective action
  • Hands-on experience working with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and operations to resolve quality and production-readiness issues
  • Comfortable creating practical quality processes, documentation, and controls without slowing down a fast-moving team
  • Able to translate technical requirements and production constraints into clear acceptance criteria and inspection standards
  • High agency, strong written communication, and a bias toward practical execution
  • Motivated by Allied’s mission and the responsibility of building reliable defence technology

You are

  • Comfortable operating in a small, high-accountability team
  • Highly ownership-driven with strong internal standards
  • A structured thinker who can make quality systems clear and repeatable
  • Calm under pressure
  • Motivated by building processes that work in practice, not just on paper
